Hero MotoCorp Rolls Out 14 Models For Srilanka

Hero MotoCorp, India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer has sailed into Srilanka. The company has launches as many as 14 new models on the Lankan shore. We had recently reported Mahindra showing interests in Sri Lanka by introducing its scooters.

Hero MotoCorp Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal commented on this development. He said, "Sri Lanka has been a very important market for us, and we have a loyal customer base in this country. It gives me immense pleasure to announce the choice of ABANS group as our partner in this market."

ABANS group will sell the bikes through a channel of 50 outlets. The Sri Lankan market is the first international market in which, Hero MotoCorp bikes are being sold under its newly incorporated brand identity.

The company has rolled out 14 models in Sri Lanka The stable includes its motorcycles Deluxe, Dawn, Pro, Splendor NXG, Super Splendor, Glamour, Passion Pro, Karizma ZMR, Hunk, Xtreme and Achiever, as well as the scooter Pleasure.

The Grand launch, witnessed Sri Lankan cricket star Kumar Sangakkara who rolled out the 125cc motorcycle 'Glamour', while Miss Sri Lanka Stephanie Siriwardhana showcased the scooter 'Pleasure'.

The company has also highlighted that, it will soon get cracking on its exports to new international markets in Africa and Latin America. Within the next five years, the company is targeting 10% international sales contributing to its overall sales.
