Hero Ignitor 125cc Out At Rs 56k; Features, Spec
The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, Hero Motocorp has silently launched the Ignitor 125cc motorbike at a price of Rs 55,900. The Hero Ignitor which was showcased in the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo comes in 2 variants - the base variant with drum brakes, self start system and the top end variant with disc breaks which comes at Rs 57,900 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The Hero Igniter is based on the company's erst-while partner Honda's CBF Stunner motorbike with same engine, technologies and similar design. However, Hero Ignitor's engine has been tuned to add more performance and the bike is priced higher than the Stunner. The engine has been tweaked for delivering peak torque at lower RPM level 5000 compared to 6500 RPM in Stunner which improves performance handling and fuel economy of the bike.
The Hero Ignitor's air cooled 125 CC engine generates 11 BHP of power at 8000 RPM and 11 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Hero Ignitor features hydraulic telescopic suspension at front and conventional spring suspension system at the rear.
Some of the attractive features of the Hero Ignitor include trapezoidal headlamps, split seats, dual tone rear view mirrors and adjustable rear shock absorbers. The motorbike will be available in four colour options - pearl white, sports red, vibrant blue and panther black metallic.
It would be very interesting to see the competition at the 125cc segment hotting up with Bajaj set to launch the Discover 125 ST and TVS to offer its 125cc bike soon. The Hero Igintor is the third 125cc bike from the company after the Super Splendor and Glamour motorbikes. Adding value to the bike, Ignitor comes with a warranty of 3 years / 40,000 Km in addition to 6 free services for approximately two years.
