Hero continues to sell bikes that it jointly developed with Honda The longer it continues to do so, the longer it has to pay royalty to the Japanese bike maker. Hero is working on developing new product platforms ranging low engine displacement to higher-powered motorcycles and scooters. The first product to be developed on Hero's new platform will be the 250cc sports bike.
Hero MotoCorp engineers have been stationed in Eric Buell Racing's research and development centre in Wisconsin US. They are working with the EBR engineers to develop the new 250cc sports bike that will deliver top notch performance powered by the latest in technology. The new bike will also be designed in the US.
Hero's 250cc sports bike will be manufactured entirely in India despite its development in the US. The new bike's development is being closely monitored by MD and CEO Pawan Munjal. This bike set to debut in India in the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo might also be marketed in the international market too.
