Dhoni Eyes World Championship With Mahi Racing
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of the Indian Cricket team and also the owner of a racing team in the World Superbike Championship is looking forward to win the world championship in 2013.
Dhoni has also renamed his racing team as Mahi Racing Team India. The team was originally named MSD R-N racing team. Speaking about the new name for the racing team Dhoni said he wanted to keep the name short and sweet. Dhoni added: " We thought MSD R-N was quite a big name. There were some other reasons also. So we thought let's keep it sweet and simple at Mahi Racing Team India."
Dhoni's team made its debut in the middle of the 2012 season and will participate in the full season in 2013. Dhoni is interested to participate in the Sport and Supersport categories in the world championship too.
In fact Dhoni is aiming at winning the world championship this year itself. The Mahi Racing Team Team India has signed Kenan Sofouglue and Fabien Foret as its riders. The team has already won a podium finish in its fifth race when Linfoot finished third in France
Dhoni is very proud of his team. He has said: "There is nothing like a Midas touch. It is all about the team. You need to have a good team. You need people to perform on the field. The same applies to the racing. You need to have good riders, good team, good technical support. Racing is something where technical assistance is very important apart from the driver's skill."
Dhoni went on to say he had dreamt of opening a riding school in India. He said with the arrival of the racing team he was ow in a position to chase his dream. Dhoni is keen to promote motor racing in India and was sure a driving school will be the right step forward. Do not be surprised to see India rider's in the Mahi Racing Team India in the coming years.
