Bajaj Increases Price Of Pulsar & Platina By 1%

Bajaj Price Hike
India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has increased price of its flagship Pulsar and entry-level Platina model by 1%. Now the Bajaj Pulsar 150cc will cost Rs. 62,720 from the earlier price tag of Rs. 62,100 and the Platina 125cc model will cost Rs. 38,380 against older price of Rs. 38,000 (all prices approx).

Rising input prices have been stated by the company as the reason of the price hike. It is said that the company was not able to hike the price of the vehicles for a long time due to increased competition in the sector.

Another two-wheeler maker, Hero Motcorp had also raised the price of its various models recently by Rs 500-1000 stating the same reason. However, it is worth noting that Bajaj has only increased the price of its premium model Pulsar and entry-level Platina.

And the reason behind this strategy could be the fact that both Pulsar and Platina are highly selling models in their respective segment and a marginal price rise will not have a drastic effect on the sales of those bikes. Meanwhile, Bajaj is expected to launch its Pulsar 200 ns 2012 and unveil the Bajaj Discover 125 ST soon.
