Bajaj Auto To Increase Bike Prices Soon
{image-28-discover-125-st www.drivespark.com}Bajaj Auto, one of the leading Indian two wheeler manufacturer has hinted at increasing motorcycle prices as input costs have increased significantly in recent days. Citing the drop in the value of the Indian Rupee as the major reason for increasing raw material prices, Bajaj Auto has stated it would need to consider revising prices soon.
Bajaj Auto has already increase prices of its motorcycles this year citing increased input costs as the reason. The rupee has seen a dramatic drop i its value in recent days and has added pressure on companies that import parts and components.
Bajaj Auto's president of the motorcycle business K Srinivas has stated that Bajaj's price hike would be based on the import costs. The decision is yet to be taken but its being considered seriously.
Mr Srinivas was speaking during the launch of the new Discover 125 ST in Chennai. The Discover 125 ST is an upgraded version of the existing Discover 125 and gets new features such as a mono-shock suspension. The current Discover 125 as well as the Discover 125 ST will be available in showrooms.
Bajaj Auto is concentrating on the 125cc motorcycle segment which according to MR K Srinivas is the fastest growing segment in the Indian market. The new Discover 125 ST will be the top end model in the Discover range and is priced at Rs.55,740.
