Vespa Scooters To Be launched This April
The Italian two wheeler manufacturer had only unveiled the LX 125 during the auto expo and had not specified when it will start selling the scooter. Vespa's launch in India is expected to be held in Mumbai on April 26th.
Vespa is also building a manufacturing plant near Baramati and the plant will be inaugurated on 28th April. Vespa will open as many as 50 new showrooms to market its LX 125 scooter. The LX 125 will join the Suzuki Access 125, Swish and Mahindra Duro in the race for supremacy among 125cc scooters.
Powered by a 125cc engine capable of generating 10.26bhp and 9.6Nm of torque, the LX 125 will be a quick scooter. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox and the scooter's mileage is expected to be around 50kmpl.
The most attractive feature of the Vespa LX 125 will be its retro design and the variety of colours it will be sold in. Buyers can choose from seven different colours - red, silver, yellow, orange, blue, black and white. This scooter will be marketed as a stylish lifestyle vehicle and is expected to be priced above Rs.60,000. Such pricing will definitely keep buyers of conventional scooter buyers away from the Vespa brand.
