Piaggio Launches Vespa At Rs.66,661
Piaggio, the international scooter brand which has a special place in many enthusiasts is back with a bang in India. After the formal launch of Piaggio's operations in India during the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the two wheeler manufacturer has launched its premium lifestyle scooter Vespa 125 LX with a price tag of Rs.66,661 (ex showroom, Maharashtra).
The Piaggio Vespa was launched in Maharashtra this morning. It is powered by a 124cc single cylinder engine capable of generating 10.26bhp of power and 9.6Nm of torque. Such power and torque will truly make the Vespa LX 125 a heart warming scooter to drive.
The Piaggio Vespa gets an automatic CVT gearbox to help you enjoy an effortless drive. The company has stated that the new Vespa is more of a lifestyle scooter aimed at young urban riders. The new scooter will be more of a brand builder and is not aimed at huge sales.
The starting price of Rs.66,661 for a scooter will sound expensive to most scooter buyers. However Piaggio has stated that the new Vespa's price was premium. Piaggio has said it will open 35 new showrooms to boost sales of the Vespa.
The Piaggio' Vespa 125 LX carries the classic front design of iconic Vespas. The large round headlights and short handle reminds us the good old days of the 80s. The rear design is more in sync with current trends with an aerodynamic finish.
