Mahindra Wins First Moto GP Race In Italy

Mahindra racing's second drive Sharth Kumar could not finish the race as he had some technical issues with his bike. Sharath had a decent qualifying session and started on 22nd position in the eight row of the grid while Moretti started on pole. This was Sharath's debut race and it was disappointing that he could not finish.
Mahindra Racing's lead driver Moretti had an incredible qualifying session and followed it with an equally impressive race. He never had to face stiff competition after racing away to a huge lead in the first few laps of the race. Moretti built a ten second lead over the second placed driver making it a confirmed victory by the middle of the race.
Moretti's win it Mugello also takes Mahindra Racing to the top of the manufacturers standing, another first for the Indian team. Speaking about his victory, Moretti said the win in the season opener was the best start possible for the season. He added that the bike could perform much better hinting at a more dominant performance in future Moto GP races.
Sharth Kumar who had his first Moto GP race said: “It's been a very good experience for me, despite the technical problem that didn't allow me to finish the race. I learned a lot, though. I didn't get the perfect start but my race pace was not so bad. Next time I will do better, I'm sure.”
