Hyosung To Launch Comet GT250R In May 2012

Motorcycle manufacturers are bringing downsized models of superbikes to India. Korean motorcycle manufacturer Garware-Hyosung is the latest to join the list of such manufacturers. The company is planning to launch its Comet GT250R sports bike in May 2012.

The company is also reportedly to planning ton launch an other bike, the naked version of the GT250R, in the form of the Comet GT250N. Currently the company sells the ST7, the GT650R and the GT650N in the Indian market.

The Comet GT250R will be assembled at Hyosung's Wai assembly unit in Maharashtra. The bike is expected to be priced between Rs 2-2.5 lakhs and will give a tough competition to the Honda CBR250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

The Comet GT250R comes with a 250cc, V-Twin oil cooled engine that produces a peak power of 27 Bhp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 21 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox and the bike will feature upside down front forks and a monoshock rear end suspension set up.
