Hyosung GT250R Launch Confirmed On June 13

The Hyosung GT 250R super bike will finally hit Indian roads on June 13th. The new bike which was expected to be launched in India as early as March this year was delayed due to various reasons, the recent one being Hyosung parting ways with partner Garware.

The Korean bike maker has now found a new partner in Indian firm DSK. The company to be called DSK Hyosung in India is preparing to launch the 250cc bike in a couple of days. Hyosung has been appreciated by Indian bike lovers for its performance and affordability.

The GT250R will be DSK Hyosung's smallest bike in India. The bike will enter the 250cc segment dominated by the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R and the Honda CBR 250R. The Hyosung GT250R's price is still unavailable. We expect the price to be around Rs.1.5 lakh.

Hyosung will be importing the GT250R in a CKD form and will be assembling it in DSK's plant. DSK has stated that it is planning to increase localization of parts to as much as 90 per cent in the coming months which will help decrease production costs and hence the price too. We will not be surprised if the GT250R's price comes down dramatically once local production begins.

DSK has stated that it will soon build an exclusive production plant for Hyosung in India which will help keep prices low. Hyosung currently sells the GT650R, GT650n and the ST7 cruise bike in India.
