Ducati's Monster 795 To Have Monstrous Price Tag

Ducati will increase the price of the monster 795 to Rs.6.99 lakhs according to reports. This price hike will become effective only after it sells the first batch of 300 motorcycles. Hence we can be rest assured that the price hike of the Monster will not happen in the very near future.
Ducati has managed to price the Monster 795 at just under Rs.6 lakhs as it imports the bike as a completely built unit from Thailand. India and Thailand have a free trade agreement which means the import tax on the motorcycle is just 20% when compared to the usual 60%.
The Ducati Monster (literally) is powered by a massive L-Twin air cooled engine that generates 87bhp and 78NM of torque. This super bike has a low ride height and a raised handle bar to make long journeys comfortable. Based on the same chassis as the Monster 696, the 795 is also cheaper to build.
The super bike market in India is still evolving and quite young. Although the price is not a major deciding factor when some one decides to buy a Ducati super bike, a difference of Rs.1 lakh will definitely make people think.
