Bajaj Slashes KTM Duke 200 Booking Amount To 20K
The KTM Duke 200 was launched just a week before the unveiling of the new Pulsar 200 NS. The Duke 200 is priced at Rs.1.17 lakhs while the new Pulsar is expected to be priced under Rs.1 lakh. Both bikes are powered by similar engines but they have been tuned differently to offer a different driving experience.
The KTM Duke 200 is the first jointly developed bike by Bajaj Auto and Austrian company KTM. There s a marked similarity between the Duke 200 and the Pulsar 200NS. Bajaj Auto which wanted to build the Austrian brand vastly in India is now disturbed by the number oc booking cancellations it has received once it unveiled the new Pulsar.
Several buyers who had booked the Duke have now had a change of heart after taking a look at the new Pulsar. With the possibility of its own product cannibalizing the sales of the Duke 200, the only way left with Bajaj was to reduce the booking amount of the Duke. It does not have the option of cutting the price of the bike within months of its launch.
Motorcycle enthusiasts who think they would like to own the Duke 200 will now need to pay only Rs.20,000. The waiting period for the bike is about 90 days. The cut in the booking amount might increase the waiting period by a few more days. So if you want the KTM, book early.
