Yamaha Motors Witness Growth In Indian Market

Yamaha Motor from Japan is launching new variants of its bikes of higher end models in the Indian auto market. The new Yamaha models will roll out its models from its UP plant where the units for domestic and export are made. Yamaha has been contemplating to ride into the scooter segment in India and simultaneously the company"s Business Head has made some cry to the government here.

Yamaha Motors have tasted a decent growth in 2010 fiscal and if such a growth has to be carried over this year too the government shall leave the excise duty undisturbed.

He said that Yamaha Motors has seen the growth amidst the increase in fuel price and the easy availability of finance on loans. He suggested that the government exempt the customs duty on aluminium and steel which otherwise may hit the industry. He said any move to alter the excise duty will bear severe consequences on the prices of vehicles.
