Two-wheelers are the preferred choice of transport for several Indians. The growing affluence in India has increased the sales of both cars and bikes. While some two-wheeler users are moving on to cars, there are some motorcycle enthusiasts who are buying premium bikes. There has been a significant increase in premium bike sales. This has attracted several world class companies such as Harley Davidson, Ducati, Hyosung, BMW, Triumph and Suzuki.

Korean motorcycle brand Hyosung which launched its 650cc superbike is now considering to launch a 250cc model in India. Italian bike manufacturer Ducati is expecting its sales to double within the next year. Harley-Davidson believes the premium bike market in India will increase ten fold within the next few years.
