Honda CBR250R Deliveries Delayed

The massive demand has been fueled by the CBR250R's awesome looks and scintilating performance. The CBR250 had attracted over 2,500 bookings even before it was officially launched in India. Its starting price of Rs1.51 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) was significantly lower than expected. This has also helped fuel demand. Powered by a single cylinder 250cc direct injection engine, the Honda CBR250R can accelerate to a topspeed of 160km/h and reach 100km/h within eiggt seconds.
As with any superbike from Honda, several important parts of the CBE250R are sourced from Japan and it is unlikely that deliveries will not bedelayed. Dealers are expecting the company to stop bookings temporarily until the reduced production can be reverted to normalcy. HMSI is expected to make a statement on the delivery status of the CBR250R to inform prospective owners.
The earthquake and Tsunami in Japan has had a crippling effect on auto production the world over. There have been several reports of Japanese carmakers reducing production due to shortage or non availability of parts. This is the first time motorcycle manufacturing has also been affected in India. One can only speculate if the delay in deliveries of the Honda CBR250R will divert sales to other manufacturers.
