Bajaj Sales Rise By 18% Last Month

The second largest Indian auto giant in two wheelers Bajaj Auto posted a growth rate of 18% in its sales during January 2011. Bajaj could achieve this feat with its demanding models from Discover and Pulsar. Of the 313583 units sold in that month, these two Bajaj bikes constituted 68% of the net volume against 266018 units of January 2010.

The sales volume in Bajaj motorcycle segment was 275622 units in this January making a rise by 18% from 232939 units of last January. There was a rise of 15% in its commercial vehicle range from 32969 units of January 2010 to 37961 units of this January.

The export volume too reaped a good stint with 44% rise from 71695 units of January 2010 to 103526 units in the last month. The sales volume for the period of April-January was up by 38% with 3189339 units from 2309625 units of January 2010. This feat effected the rise of share price for Bajaj in the Bombay Stock Exchange by 1.25% @Rs1261.90.
