Bajaj Domestic Market Sales Drop

By By: Vicky.in

The two wheeler giant Bajaj is on losing ground regarding its 4 million mark set for this fiscal year. Yet it claims that there wont be any hitch on profit margin despite fall in Bajaj domestic market sale volume. The President of Bajaj Auto said that the target set was thought to be a challenging one but the company could muster the volume of 3.85million units till now. He said the fall in Bajaj domestic market has been compensated with the export volume. At the time of setting the target of 4 million the export volume was expected to be 1 million. But now, he said, it exceeded to 1.2 million units. This accrued the desired profitability even at the fall of Bajaj sale in domestic market, he added. The profit figure for the Q3 was Rs667.11 crore which was Rs475.14 crore at the corresponding period of 2009.

The sale volume during the Q1 was 928000 units, it was 1 million in the second quarter and in the third quarter Bajaj domestic market sales reached the mark of 946850 units. For the production volume for this fiscal, he said, the company could reach the 5 million mark constituted by 4.5 million two wheelers and .5 million three wheelers. He expressed the hope that the company has set the target of 20% overall growth from the projected industry growth of 14-15%. He said the company is launching a new Discover during April followed by two new models during Deepavali festival.
