There have been several advancements in safety technology that ensure a person involved in a car accident does not suffer loss of life or limb. Air bags for two wheeler users are specially being developed. These air bags will be fitted inside jackets that needs to be worn by riders. IN an event such as a crash or a collision, these air bags inflate from within the jacket and prevent any serious injury happening to a bike rider.
One such airbag jacket has been developed by Dainese, which is marketing as the D-Air Racing airbag system. This airbag jacket will offer protection to vital parts of the body such as shoulders, neck and ribs. If there is an accident and the rider falls to the ground, these airbags deflate quickly to cushion the fall and prevent injury. The airbag jacket does not look awkward when it is worn and will look like a normal racing jacket.
It is heartening to know that two wheeler drivers, who consist the majority of road users are now getting an opportunity to protect themselves in the maddening traffic.
