Bangalore Parts Used In Ducati, Harley Davidson!
Ducati and Harley Davidson have already set up shop in India and have established showrooms in some cities recently. But what is surprising is these super bike manufacturers have had an India link since several years. A Bangalore based company is supplying engine components to several super bike manufacturers across the globe.
Sansera Engineering, an engine parts supplier from Bangalore has been supplying engine parts to several international motorcycle brands such as Yamaha, Harley Davidson and Ducati. The company was recently feted by Ducati for its excellence in quality. It was presented with the and Service award for the year by Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio in Italy.
Speaking about the company"s achievement, Mr S. Shekar Vasan, whoruns this company said: “This shows what India is capable of delivering. But what is more important is that we are being spoken about in the same breath as some of the best known suppliers and are competing with them."
Sansera Engineering builds connecting rods, rocker arm systems and gear shifter forks for Ducati engines that are used in both street bikes as well as in the Moto GP motorcycles. Mr Vasan has said his
company was introduced to Ducati by a Yamaha executive in Italy and from then the company has been building parts for the Italian company.
India has emerged as a strong supplier of auto parts. The exports are growing at the rate of 30 per cent per year. India"s contribution to the global automotive engineering has shown tremendous growth. Even countries like Thailand and Korea that build many bikes are getting their parts engineered in India.
