Yamaha India Posts 27% Hike In October Sales

Yamaha October Sales
Japanese two wheeler manufacturer India Yamaha Motor has posted a 26.82 per cent increase in October sales. The company in its statement has said the festive season around Diwali helped increase sales.

In its statement, Yamaha has said: “ The festive season has played a vital role in catapulting sales for Yamaha this month. We are confident that the momentum will sustain in the long run and help us in redefining our sales graph."

Yamaha sold 47,240 units in October 2011 as against the 37,251 units it sold in October 2010. The company has also said its exports from India had also seen a significant increase of 65.04 per cent. Yamaha's domestic sales increased to 38,229 units from 31,791 units marking a 20.25 per cent increase.

Yamaha exported 9,011 motorcycles from 5,460 units exported in October 2010. Demand for two wheelers has seen a consistent increase in the past few years and this has been accelerated by increase in petrol prices. Several people have switched to buying motorcycles instead of cars considering high petrol prices.
