Yamaha YZF-R15 Race Championship for Season 2010.
The championship race in Chennai was the first part of the SIDVIN-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2010. The first part, known as leg 1, involved both Yamaha as well as non-Yamaha enthusiasts.
Out of the 86 participants in the Novice Race 1 category, G. R. Santosh from Bangalore won the 1st rank, followed by Deepak Papineni for 2nd rank and Kishore from Neyveli won the 3rd rank. In the Novice Race 2 category, Bharath Raj got the 1st place followed by G.R. Santosh and Sai Kishore.
Among the Expert Race 1 category, R.Deepak won the 1st rank, and Shyam Shankar came 2nd and Sudhakar Kesavan won the 3rd rank. The Expert Race 2 had been cancelled due to poor visibility.
The racers were greatly motivated for performance, as they will get a golden opportunity to race in “Yamaha Asean Cup Race" to be held in Malaysia later in 2010. If the racers perform well in Malaysia, they will get a chance to participate in the “Asia Road Race Championship," Race 600cc Class. If they perform well in the 600cc class, they will get a chance to participate in Grand Prix!
In spite of the hot climate in Chennai, the racers with the Daytona Racing Kits in the Yamaha"s Super Sports YZF-R15 experienced the breathtaking velocity of the motorcycles on the Irungatukottai race circuit. Yamaha YZF-R15 is known for its Performance, Innovation & Design and it is a dream bike for any motorcycle racing enthusiasts. The bikes and the bikers proved a great combination and it was awesome to see them scratch the knee rubbers and negotiate corners.
YZF-R15's elder brother the R1 is the design base for this bike. Deltabox frame/Fuel Injection/6 speed gearbox/styling/Liquid Cooled 4V engine are some of the technologies inherited by R15 from R1. Also, aerodynamics, ergonomics,rigidity, inspiring braking characteristics light weight, makes R15 the best Indian bike for racing right now!
