TVS stops production of Scooty Teenz Electric scooter!

People in our country have not yet adapted to future technologies. For instance, due to poor demand of the electric variant of TVS Scooty Teenz Electric, the company has temporarily stopped producing this electric scooter. Along with this, TVS will postpone launching the proposed 3 wheeled Electric Auto rikshaw too.

TVS's Marketing President H S Goindi informed that since the market is not good enough for electric two-wheelers right now, and hence TVS will continue to concentrate on selling regular motorcycles and scooters.

TVS Scooty Teenz was introduced in the Indian market during April 2008 but stopped production in May 2009. The cost of Scooty Teenz Electric is Rs. 29,000 (ex-showroom) and company had high hopes to sell the vehicle initially targetting 40000 units per year. But that never happened. Nevertheless, consumers can still buy the scooter if they wish from selective dealer outlets and the scooters will be delivered from old stock!
