Royal Enfield To Produce 1 Lakh Bullets

Royal Enfield(RE), the cult Bullet maker based in Chennai has decided to ramp up its production owing to huge demand of its motorcycles. In order to achieve the production target of 1 lakh units per annum, RE will invest Rs. 80 crore at its Chennai plant in a phased manner.

Royal Enfield Marketing & Sales Head, Shaji Koshy opened the company's 11th Brand Store in the country in New Mumbai and announced the investment plans to scale up production. RE doubled its capacity from 28,000 units in 2007-08 to 52,000 units in 2009. In the current year, RE will produce 60,000 units. RE's production is dishing out bullets in full swing in the recent past due to great demand, both in domestic as well as international markets.

RE hopes the expansion plans will double its production with steep rise in capacity over next 3 years so as to keep its pace with the brisk sales of its models.
