Mahindra To Rule Motorcycle Market
Mahindra is sculpting the bikes at its Italy-based Engines Engineering and the company's Pithampur plant that makes Mahindra scooters does have a capacity to dish out 5-6 lakh units per annum. M&M is quite happy with the sales of 1 lakh scooters within 10 months of the launch. Hence, the company has more reasons to look out for a motorcycle market.
During July 2009, Mahindra sold a mere 2,808 scooters whereas the company has registered a whooping 329% sales rise and sold 12,033 units in July 2010. Mahindra grabbed 11% stake in Kinetic Motors and started selling Kinetic Sym scooters under Mahindra brand. Mahindra also eyes on expanding its business in Tier II and Tier III destinations, where there is huge growth potential.
