Honds Unicorn Dazzler Test Drive Report
Styling: Honda was blamed by many bikers for providing under styled bikes. But now, the stylish Dazzler will make every complainer to keep his mouth closed. Dazzler is leaner, attractive and a sports icon on road!. The bird beak like front cowl with wider sides makes it a warrior machine. The large tank shrouds with the silvery 3D Honda wing logo on both the sides will add to owner's pride. The tank is now got 12 liters to swallow and the bike sheds a full 8 kilos than the Unicorn, its predecessor.
Engineering: Fun with colors are the idea behind Dazzler's colors. Dazzling with metallic paints, Dazzler's paint quality is exceptional. Dual tone seats are a sporty touch. The up tilted exhaust pipe tail section with the rear disc and broad depicts a typical sports bike. The tail lamp shies away from any style, it is simple and dull, not as attractive as the Unicorn. Overall, Dazzler is Honda's answer to the funky and muscular FZ in styling department. The irksome factor is when given a glance, one can easily confuse himself if the bike is a Dazzler or a Twister, because the tank shrouds, the front headlamp sculpture and rear with red shocks, resembles Twister, croud grabbers, better watch out!
Engine: Dazzler's bhps and kgms will not feed the street races for sure. Dazzler retains the velvety soft and refined Unicorn engine of 149.1cc but producing a respectful 14 bhp at 8500rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque 6500rpm. Although the peak power and peak torque comes in higher rpms(500 rpm more) than the Unicorn's engine, the lighter weight of the bike gives a more precise power to weight ratio, making it quicker than Unicorn. The engine is rev friendly and strong in the mid ranges, which are much needed for city riding conditions and Dazzler's power mill will serve the purpose for many more trouble free years.
Performance and Mileage: Press starting the Dazzler's heart, the engine tune sounds sporty than the silent note of Unicorn, which might cause doubt regarding the power train's refinement. But, the worries were gone when we found that the engine was rock solid when we used full throttle up to 9000 rpm and found no vibrations. Dazzler is lighter and behaves accurately to the throttle twists galloping and crossing 60kmph from standstill in just 5 seconds. The pull is uniform in all gears and the gear shifting is a cake walk, so precise. Dazzler's top whack is an impressive 105 kmph and returned a mileage of 50 kmph in our testing.
Ride and Handling: Unicorn was a ride and handling master and its successor, Dazzler continues providing the same soft monshock suspension at the rear. We initially weren't that sure if Dazzler would handle well due to its lean structure, but we were taken aback, when the bike was poised and predictable even in sharp cornering, thanks to the brilliant uniform weight distribution. Dazzler is ready for any sporty ride and welcomes hard cornering without hesitation.
Dazzler is a diet Unicorn, yes the pot like tank of Unicorn is now trendy and slim in Dazzler, also the ground clearance is reduced by a significant 12 mm, thanks to the 17 inch rubbers (rather than the 18 inch of Unicorn) making it more easy to handle and suits shorter friends too. Dazzler is also 15 mm shorter and 22 mm smaller in length. Dazzler rides on 80/100 and 110/80 17" tyres. Braking is double ensured, with the 240 mm front and 220 mm rear discs. Progressive braking makes sense with Honda's engineering and it is a boon to the rider's shoulder, otherwise, it would be irksome using dual discs.

Dazzler is the response to long awaited modifications expected by the owners of Honda Unicorn, to make their bike to higher standards. Except for a higher price tag, everything about Dazzler is a ready to possess bike for you!
