Hero Honda Launches Refurbished Super Splendor
According to Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, Anil Dua, the 125 cc segment has been stag stagnant or even declining in the past one year, but Hero Honda believe that it can grow the market. He also added that the company expects a 15-20% growth in the 125 cc segment.
The current Super Splendor will be phased out, as the new Super Splendor is launched.
Hero Honda motorcycles are in huge demand as the company sold more than 4,00,000 units in the past consecutive months. In August 2010, Hero Honda registered a 2.28% sales growth to 4,24,617 units as against 4,15,137 units sold in August 2009.
Hero Honda wants to continue building the sales momentum with a few more product launches, which may include the refurbished Hunk, 150 cc motorcycle. Hero Honda has 3 motorcycles in the 125 cc segment that includes the Super Splendor, Glamor and Glamor PGM-Fi.
The 125 cc segment contributes to 20% of total two-wheeler sales of the country adding 75 lakhs unit per annum. Recently, Yamaha and Suzuki launched the YBR 125 and Slingshot 125 motorcycles which are also launched in the 125 cc segment.
