Hero Honda Reports 2.28 Percent Sales Hike

Hero Honda, India's largest two-wheeler maker, has reported a sales increase of 2.28 percent to 4,24,617 units during the month of August 2010 when compared against the 4,15,137 units sold during August 2009.

Hero Honda has recorded a sales of more than 4,00,000 units per month for the fourth time in a single month. According to Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua, the domestic two-wheeler industry remains buoyant and Hero Honda expect growth to maintain this trajectory in the coming months. He added that, for Hero Honda, the record four lakh-plus sales for the fourth consecutive month, has set the tone for the festival season.

Hero Honda has planned to launch new models in the coming festive season. Hero Honda's volume players include the entry level 100 cc bikes namely, Splendor and Passion. Hero Honda's automatic scooter, 'Pleasure' has sold over 27,000 units in August. Hero Honda may launch new variants of its 125 cc motorcycle Super Splendor and an upgraded 150cc motorcycle, Hero Honda Hunk, although there is no official words regarding these launches.
