Honda Gearing To Take On A challenge

The Japanese motorcycle maker Honda Motor is entering into the Indian bike market with its latest weapon, CBR250R. The bike will be made in Thailand and will be ready for sale possibly next month. Honda will please the Indian sports bike lover with this vehicle next year and the facility will be deemed to be a hub for South American markets. The move proves the much hyped assumptions about such launch which were in the air for quite some time.

Honda will join Bajaj" Kawasaki Ninja with this bike in this 250cc sports category and the bike may be priced on the range of Rs3 lakhs. Honda will build this CBR250R with an enhanced engine displacement, which will be the first ever from Honda. Further this bike will come as the maiden model in the sports version and will carry with its parts and components derived from the global contexts.

This CBR250R is a follow up of Honda"s scooter PCX125 made and launched in Thailand and will be marketed in the regions of Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and ASEACN countries. The commercial launch of this CBR250R will commence during the end of 2011. Honda has devised the concept of “Sport Quarter for One World" to move this bike globally. This implies that the bike is common for every rider and is suited for all ages. Thai Honda has been in the production of bike since 1967 and the export of bikes to Japan has been there since 1988, started with Cub 100EX. Thai Honda has already crossed the 18 million bike units till date including exports to various markets like Europe and Asia.

Thai Honda exploits the technology concept initiated under Kumamoto Factory for this high end products. CBR250R will be designed with a liquid-cooled 250cc 4 stroke 4 valve single cylinder DOHC engine. The bike is set to meet the Euro 3 norms and Thai"s 6th emission norms. All these are possible thanks to the electronically controlled fuel injection system called PGM-FI (1) and O2 sensor. Also is the coupling of a catalyzer in the exhaust pipe. The body is full cowl and is marked with relevant beauty items like light and compact frame made out of diamond shaped truss shape, angle handling and steady maneuverability to make the bike a total sports piece. There is a handy control system of the wind toward the engine or the rider by way of the cowl design.

For safety aspects, this bike offers Combined ABS, the first ever for a 250cc sports model in the world. With this Combined ABS the movement of vehicle is still made stable through front and rear interlocking system and an Anti-lock system to prevent wheel lock at the time of sudden braking.
