Harley Davidson New Bikes In India Soon

Harley Davidson is all set to start it's assembly plant in India for it's new bikes Super Low and Iron 883. These new bikes of Harley Davidson was displayed in Delhi Expo 2010. In 12 months from now, the new models of Harley David will be on Indian roads. Their assembly plant in India will be their second assembly plant outside US.

Anoop Prakash, MD, Harley Davidson India says, “There are only a few ways you can challenge the tariffs, directly or indirectly. This is the indirect method by going ahead and starting assembly and bringing in the kits so that you can put them together here. I think that what we opted to do. It seemed to be the most direct route to make our bikes more accessible."

Harley Davidson will introduce it's two new bikes at a price between 5-7 lakhs, which will make them affordable in India and also add on to their popularity. Both the bikes Super Low and Iron 883, are equipped with 883cc, 45 degree V-twin engines. Super Low suspension and seating has been specially designed for the Indian users.

Anoop Prakash says, “The Iron 883 by Harley Davidson, is one example of just a phenomenal bike, it"s a sportster family bike with very dark custom bad boy looks and it has been a phenomenal seller in the United States. We feel it has easy handling, tight to the body and its maneuverability is going to be perfect for our roads.
