Bajaj Auto posts 100 percent rise
The country"s second largest two-wheeler manufacturer Ltd Bajaj Auto Ltd reported a 100 per cent rise in net profit for the first quarter of 2010-11 at Rs 590 crore against Rs 293 crore in 2009-10.
Bajaj"s growth in profit was largely because of the strong overall revival in sales, especially the Pulsar and Discover brands were selling in large numbers and continue to sell in the same pace now. Bajaj Auto"s total income grew by 66.4 % to Rs. 3,890 crore which was Rs. 2338 crore during the same first quarter in 2009-2010.
The top brands Pulsar and Discover sold in huge numbers and contributed largely to the growth of 71% during the January to March 2010 period. Bajaj has also witnessed a great profit in its 3 wheeler sales, which grew by 58% in the first quarter. Bajaj"s exports has grew by 82% to 3.2 lakh units during April- June period.
Bajaj"s innovative and aggressive market strategy is paving the success road for the Indian two wheeler giant. The recently launched Discover 150 and Pulsar 135 LS continues to attract more buyers towards Bajaj showrooms.
