Kinetic Blaze : The Tamed Wild Power
The Kinetic Blaze is available in three different colors of Godfather Gray, Blazing Black and Roaring Red. Priced at Rs. 49,990, Kinetic Blaze scooter is quite good deal for all those who don"t want to invest in a bike but at the same time want an equally powerful two-wheeler. The 4-stroke 165cc engine of Blaze gives a maximum energy of 12 bhp. The scooter provides easy riding due to the feature of automatic gear transmission. The seats of the scooter are quite ergonomically designed keeping comfort as the top most priority. The under seat storage space is quite large compared with other scooters.
The scooter has stylish cut-in body cues and cool looking Ferrari like fins in the front. Other features include a seat lock, front and rear drum brakes, stylish grab rail at the back, Aero-euro visor for protection, speedometer, digital clock, ultra bright twin head lamp, etc. The wheel base is wider than most scooters and the large wheels safeguarded with fat rubber provide greater support and stability. Its main comfort and styling features included in it are roomy and large seats, step up euro-seat with back rest, pop up split open seat unlocking, large under seat storage space for storing helmet, assorted belonging, glove box; sophisticated cut-in body cues, cool Ferrari like fins on front etc.
Its 4 stroke 165 cc engine delivers maximum output of 11.6 bhp and automatic gear transmission gives the pleasure and reliability of riding. Its linear power delivery for uninterrupted acceleration, CDI ignition with dual mode for power and economy, smooth and noiseless engine provide the satisfaction of hassle free riding. With the Blaze, Kinetic has gone against the grain with a spec list totally alien to Indian scooters. This one puts out 11.6bhp from a 165.12cc engine, and does that in between a 1990mm length and 1495mm wheelbase.
The motoscooter"s considerable and generously padded stepped seat pops open via the ignition key in unique split fashion. Its under-rider section is a storage bay, and the pillion seat swivels backwards for fuel filling. Levers and switchgear are just about adequate, with an innovative pass light operated by depressing the headlight toggle. We didn"t care much for the unconventional grips and Kinetic would do well to incorporate a rear brake lock clip on this large scooter.
Kinetic has taken the four-stroke and four-valve, air-cooled Hyosung motor used in their GF 170 model, converted it into a variator-driven automatic and slotted it Nova style into the Blaze. Displacing 165.12cc, the electrically-started motor makes a healthy 11.6bhp at 7500rpm, and 1.2kgm at 5000rpm of peak torque. The CV carburetted power plant on the pre-production scooter we rode was more than a tad rough, and felt like it could do with dollops of refinement, but crack that throttle open and no Indian scooter comes even close.
The riding posture on a Blaze couldn"t be better, and nor could a pillion passenger"s comfort level. Small road undulations are brushed aside, while larger potholes get soaked in with aplomb. The Blaze does this thanks to a suspension setup infinitely better than we are used to. Riders can literally wade around in a comforting roominess with even the tallest feeling comfortable. And handling is as thoughtfully blended as a top drawer scotch—neither too sharp nor overtly blunt. Without being over the top, the Blaze amply demonstrates the potential of Italjet's more-scooter-per-scooter range.
