YouTuber Sourav Joshi Withdraws E20 Fuel Claim, Says Mercedes Engine Was At Fault
Popular YouTuber Sourav Joshi has withdrawn his earlier claims that E20 fuel reduced the fuel efficiency of his Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC. In a recent post, the vlogger said the drop in mileage was likely caused by an issue with the SUV's engine rather than the fuel.
Youtuber Sourav Joshi Revokes E20 Claims
Ethanol-blended petrol has become a major topic of discussion in India, with several consumers claiming that their vehicles return lower mileage after prolonged usage. Recently, YouTuber Sourav Joshi posted a video claiming that his Mercedes SUV suffered a severe drop in fuel efficiency due to E20 fuel within just 48 hours.

In his earlier video, the vlogger claimed that his vehicle's fuel efficiency had dropped from 17 km/l to just 5 km/l, while also showing the instrument cluster data. The video went viral, and several other users also commented on the mileage of their own vehicles before and after using E20 fuel.
Many users reposted his claims and also shared their own experiences regarding the use of ethanol-blended fuel. However, Mercedes-Benz later issued a statement regarding E20 fuel, stating that all its new petrol vehicles are compatible with E20 fuel.

Now, Sourav has withdrawn his earlier comments about E20 fuel, stating that his vehicle had an engine-related issue. He said, "We visited the Mercedes service centre, and they found that there was an issue with the engine, which was causing the low mileage. I apologise for the misunderstanding regarding E20 petrol. My intention was never to spread incorrect information or hurt anyone's sentiments. I have trimmed that part accordingly."
He added, "I have the right to express my views through my YouTube vlogs. Everything I share is based on my personal thoughts, opinions, and experiences. I speak about what I genuinely feel, and there is no bias or hidden agenda behind it."
After the YouTuber withdrew his claims about E20 fuel, many users began trolling Sourav Joshi for reversing his earlier statements. The lifestyle vlogger has more than 41 million subscribers, and it would be difficult for him to respond to every comment regarding the E20 controversy.
