XploreAir Paravelo Flying Bicycle Is Also A Tent
The people behind the Paravelo call it a flying bicycle. A More appropriate description, however, would be a lightweight bicycle that pulls along a trailer holding a fan and a paraglider. A rather neat garage project, XplorerAir Paravelo is now on Kickstarter looking for crowdfunding.
This contraption has the potential to be a perfect weekend getaway gear - a bicycle to explore, a paraglider to take to the sky and even an optional tent which can be part of Paravelo. The paraglider and the fan can be deployed either with the bicycle attached to it or as a separate unit. After take off the fan can get you to speeds of up to 40 km/h.
Altitudes of up to 4,000 feet can be reached and the flight can last for upto 3 hours. The whole thing can be folded up stored inside a house. If Paravelo gets into the production stage it could turn out to be quite a popular product in the adventure and explorer community.
