World's Most Gruelling Off Road Challenge
You may or may not have heard of the Dakar Rally, 24 Hour Le Mans challenge and many such endurance races. We presume you must not have heard or seen the Hare Scramble and is considered as the most gruelling and demanding two wheel challenge in history.
It is an off-road motorcycle challenge where riders have to go through rugged terrain and woodlands which, has been marked by the race officials. The winner is determined with a simple system, whoever crosses the line with an overall fastest speed throughout the race.
The circuit is selected and is closed of to general public. The tracks can vary from four kilometres to 64 kilometres. The organisers make the course very difficult and it is even treacherous. There are certain parts of the track where the handlebars do not fit and slow the rider down.
The goal of every rider is to complete as many laps as one can in a predetermined time period. Organizers usually hold the competition for anywhere between an hour to three depending on how big the course is. The rider who does the most laps and maintains the highest speed wins the challenge.
We have found a video for you where an entire lap is recorded by Dougie Lampkin who attempts the toughest and most gruelling endurance race. It is held at Eisenerz, Austria.
