The Guinness World Record for the World's Most Expensive Set Of Tyres has been claimed by a new set of tyre manufactured by Dubai-based Z-Tyre.
A set of the tyres uses both gold and diamonds in the construction of the tyres which cost a jaw-dropping Rs. 4.02 crore ($600,000). All proceeds from the sale of the tyres will go to charity.
The 295/35 ZR21 107Y XL tyres are done up with 24 Carat gold and specially selected diamonds and was commissioned by an anonymous buyer. The set of tyres that took the world record were produced at the Sentury Tire factory in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.
The diamonds were embedded into the tyres by artisan jewellers from Italy. The gold leaf work has been done by the same people who helped adorn the presidential palace in Abu Dhabi.
Harjeev Kandhari, CEO of Z Tyres, said: "We've always treasured the outstanding skills and dedication involved in developing our Z Tyre range so we thought what better way to celebrate this achievement than with a record-breaking special set of tyres especially commissioned for a unique buyer."
"In keeping with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Z Tyres will donate all profits from the $600,000 sale to the Zenises Foundation which focuses on improving access to education across the world," he added.
