Women Turn Abandoned Bus Into Designer House

Remember expansive, rich, luxurious homes designed inside buses and trailer trucks owned by millionaires? There is no one who would say no to owning such a house. But its nothing more than dream for the most of us, something we have to settle with by only looking at photos of. Or maybe not.

How about building one for yourself. All you would need is a bus that is abandoned, some furniture and lighting and your imagination. This is what two women from Israel have done. The final result is an elegant example of a sustainable house.

Let us start by showing you how the bus looked before the transformation. We do not know how much Tally Saul and Hagit Morevski paid for the discarded bus, but we can be sure for a broken down bus it would not be a fortune.

The next step was to hire a professional designing firm, Ward Design. But if you are good with interior designing yourself you could skip this step altogether.

There is no denying that the the bus-house looks very appealing. It's roomy, has a contemporary, minimalist and functional design that utilises the space optimally. It also comes with amenities such as hot water and air conditioner.

The bus measures two and half feet wide and 12 feet long. In this limited space the designers have managed to fit all the essentials in the most beautiful manner.

At one end is the kitchen counter and a coffee table with comfortable looking seats and a book stands. At the other end is the bedroom, with a bed that transforms into a couch.

In the middle is a bathroom, with frosted glass doors and a fashionable looking cupboard which has the silhouette of British actress Audrey Hepburn painted on it.

It is not clear what the source of power is. But solar power is the prefered choice in projects such as these. We do not think the bus has an engine in it anymore so it won't be going anywhere on its own. The bus is actually on sale. But at $300,000 we feel it is overpriced. But now you know what you need to build one for yourself for a lot less.
