Value For Money
A well-equipped Tesla Model S (P100 D), costs more than a Mercedes Benz S-Class (S500), but offers much fewer features, comfort and noise insulation. The Tesla might be more technologically-advanced and could get new features via a software update. But when it comes to daily usage, you might get better choices in other fossil-fuel offerings though they tend to harm the environment a bit.

The replacement cost of the battery packs in electric cars is high. It is because all the individual components in the cell are sourced from different manufacturers or even countries. This is why Tesla is setting up their own battery production facility. If EVs have to be common, then a good network of charging stations also have to set up beforehand.
