English Footballer Wayne Rooney Arrested For Drunk Driving
Wayne Rooney, the celebrated football player was arrested for drunk driving charges and is now out on bail.
Celebrated English footballer, Wayne Rooney has been arrested by the Cheshire police on drunk driving charges, reports The Sun. Rooney, a multiple trophy winner, was arrested while driving a black Volkswagen Beetle with an unidentified woman.
The car belonged to the woman accompanying Rooney and the footballer was arrested at 2:00 a.m. standard British time. According to the police, Rooney had three times the permissible limit of alcohol in his body.
The Englishman claimed that the woman in the passenger seat was 'too drunk' to drive when police stopped him on routine checks. Police took him into custody and Rooney was released on bail the next day. The footballer was picked up by his agent, Paul Stretford.
Wayne Rooney, who is about to have his fourth child will have to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on September 18.
Currently playing for Everton, Wayne Rooney is an automobile buff and has a collection of cars that include an Aston Martin Vanquish, Range Rover Vogue, a Mercedes G55 AMG, Chevrolet Corvette, a Gallardo, and a Bentley Continental GT amongst others.

You don't drink and drive, no matter who you are — that's rules. Rooney has violated rules but did not crash or create damage which is a notable fact, unlike other celebrities. Stringent measures should be taken in India too, as influential people manage to get away with such offenses.
