Vibe Dredd Audio System Is The World’s Loudest Car Audio

By Ganesh

Vibe Audio is Britain's largest car audio system manufacturer. Every once in a while Vibe builds a demo product which is used to showcase the capabilities of the company. Vibe Lambo and Vibe Bass Tunnel are some of the outstanding examples. Them came the Vibe Dredd, a build so impressive that it has now turned into a mascot of sorts for the company.

Before you read about Vibe Dredd, you should know about the vehicle. Dredd was a movie prop used in the 1995 action movie Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone, based on the British Comic 2000AD. The Dredd is the name of the truck driven by enforcement authorities in the movie.

The Dredd truck used by Vibe was one of several that were used in movie and one of the only three working units that were ever built.

Vibe Dredd

All Dredd vehicles for the movie were built by Jaguar Land Rover, based on Land Rover 101 trucks. The Vibe Dredd was found by the company in a barn in a state of utter disrepair.

Vibe Dredd

Vibe undertook the difficult task of restoring the Dredd. It took 2,500 man hours to repair the vehicle and turn it into the Vibe Dredd, with the workforce working as long as 20 hour as the date of the unveiling neared.

Vibe Dredd

Vibe Dredd was unveiled to the crowd at the Donny North 2005 custom car show by British actor Adam Rayner. The demo product proved to be a resounding success, not just at the show but worldwide where crowds gather to have a look at the what is perhaps the coolest looking audio truck. Here are some facts about Vibe Dredd.

A signature design feature of the Vibe Dredd is the Vibe Turbo Port built into the back of the truck. It's not there just to make the truck look good. Without the port to let air out the pressure would break apart the fiberglass body of the truck.

Besides the eight five inch speakers on either side of the Turbo Port, which are raised using hydraulics you will be amazed to know that each wheel has a built in subwoofer.

Vibe Bass Tunnel

This is the Vibe Base Tunnel we told you about in the beginning. As the name suggests the 'tunnel' surrounds you with extremely loud speakers and sub-woofers.
