Police Are Investigating Tennis Champion Venus Williams In A Fatal Car Crash She Was Involved In
Tennis star Venus Williams was involved in a car crash earlier this month, which turned fatal after two weeks. She is now being investigated for the same.
U.S based Tennis champion Venus Williams was involved in a car crash earlier this month, which has led to the death of a person. Palm Beach Gardens Police in Florida are investigating the car crash which took place on 9th June, 2017.
The car in which Venus was travelling, collided with a car in which an elderly couple was travelling. The elderly couple were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries, and the wife, who was driving, survived, but the husband succumbed to his injuries two weeks after the crash.
Venus has not been charged yet, but the police are investigating the accident and are presently of the belief that it was Venus's fault. A police report said, the collision happened at an intersection when Ms Williams' car suddenly darted into their path and was unable to clear the junction in time due to traffic jams.
The report added that Ms Williams was at fault for violating the right of way of the other driver and also confirmed that there were no drugs, alcohol, or mobile phone distractions involved in the accident. Ms Williams' lawyer told media that she entered the intersection on a green light, and Venus Williams herself told the police that she was driving slowly and that she did not see the couple's car.

Venus Williams is to play her 20th wimbledon tournament in London, next week. While we certainly hope that this incident does not affect her sports career, we also are aware that she would have to be charged if found guilty.
