Actor Varun Dhawan got a challan from Mumbai Police for not wearing the seat belt.

Varun Dhawan, one of the young Bollywood stars known for his acting in movies such as Badlapur and Judwaa 2 got a surprise from Mumbai Police for not wearing the seat belt.

Dhawan took a selfie with his fan in traffic while waiting for the signal to turn green. The actor peeked out of the window of his car to do so.

The incident was caught on camera which came into notice of Mumbai Police who immediately posted the photo on Twitter and tagged Dhawan to point out his mistake of not wearing a seatbelt and put his as well as his fans like in risk.

In the tweet, Mumbai Police stated that being a youth icon Dhawan should be responsible and these kind of acts will only work on silver screen. The tweet ended stating than an E-challan has been issued for not wearing the seat belt.

Dhawan was traveling in his SUV and was waiting for the signal to turn green. But when he noticed one of his female fan trying to take a picture of him who was sitting in the adjoining auto rickshaw. So, the actor offered a selfie by leaning out of the window

In reply to the Mumbai Police tweet, Dhawan said that as the vehicle was stationary he was not wearing the seatbelt, and at the same time he did not want to hurt the sentiment of his fan. At the same time, he also apologised for his actions.

Wearing seat belt should be the first thing you should do when you get into the car. It doesn't matter whether the vehicle is moving or stationary, accidents can happen at any time. So, it's always better to be buckled up.
