Toyota Hilux Rescuing A Stranded Oil Tanker On Snowed-In Shinku La Pass Is A Tale Of Strength & Compassion
The Toyota Hilux is known across the world for its indestructible nature and ability to navigate across the toughest of terrains. The Toyota pickup truck recently showed off its strength in a video shared by DCV Expeditions on YouTube.
The Youtuber, who is known for his videos of driving and camping in the mountains using his 4x4 vehicles, posted a truly heartwarming video which showed him coming to the rescue of other motorists on the road on one of his recent journeys across the mountains.
In the video, he can be seen driving across the snow-covered Shinku La (also known as Shingo La) Pass that sits on the boundary between the state of Himachal Pradesh and the Union territory of Ladakh.
With winter settling in, the Shinku La pass, which sits at 16,703 feet above sea level (5,091 metres), was snowed in, leaving many motorists stuck or struggling for traction.
The Youtuber and his Hilux, which is fitted with off-roading tyres first find a Mahindra Bolero stuck on the pass. He steps out to help before using his Toyota pickup to pull them up a treacherous section. With the Bolero and its passengers safe and on their way, the Youtuber continued his journey.
This is when he came across an oil tanker stuck on one of the hairpin bends on the Shinku La pass. Once again, the Hilux and the big-hearted guy behind its wheel got into rescue mode, strapping up the pickup to the tanker.
When the first attempt fails, the Hilux owner instructs the truck driver to accelerate as well when the pickup pulls him forward. This time, the Hilux helps drag the truck free.
When asked if he can continue the journey through the pass now that he is free, the truck driver pleads with the Hilux owner to help him get across the top of the pass, revealing that he had been stuck on the hairpin bend for four days.
The Hilux owner, clearly moved by the trucker's story continues to help him, pulling the tanker till it clears the top of the pass. The trucker thanks him and then they both continue on their respective journeys across the mountain pass.
Thoughts About The Indomitable Hilux & Its Driver
The Toyota Hilux, once again showed just why it is considered one of the most capable and tough off-roaders on sale anywhere in the world.
We would also like to acknowledge the owner of the Hilux, who went out of his way to help rescue those stranded on the highway. If we had quite a few more big-hearted and capable people like him around, surely the world would be a much better place.
