Top Gear Will Not Be Aired Until 2018
The world's popular auto show Top Gear will not be aired until 2018. BBC is satisfied with the show's performance this year.
BBC aired the season finale episode of the Top Gear last week in the UK. Around 1.89 million people watched the episode. That's lower than the lowest rated Top Gear episode.

Now you may think that BBC will consider the show as a failure. But thankfully, BBC has still faith in the show. Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris and Rory Reid will be returning to the show, but it will not telecast until 2018.

Previously, when Clarkson, Hammond and May were hosting the show, there were two series of Top Gear every year. But now seven episodes seem like a bit short.

Despite the low ratings for the season finale, BBC is satisfied with the overall performance of the show. A BBC spokesperson said, "The first five episodes of ‘Top Gear', which we have consolidated figures for, have been enjoyed by an average of 3.4 million people each week."

BBC2 controller Patrick Holland revealed that the new Top Gear series attracted the younger audience. He also praised the performance of the new presenters of the show.

Holland said, "The doubt at the beginning, the fear when a show comes back is will the audience grow to like this new presenting combo? And we are starting again this year."
