Top 5 EVs In India With The Longest Range - An Earth Day Special
Ever since electric vehicles came into the market, they've had a massive impact on the general public. As years pass and technology improves, engineers keep finding ways to make these vehicles more efficient and practical.
Initially, there was a massive cry among people who were iffy about it running out of battery on a long journey and there being no means to charge it. Here, we talk about the EVs sold in the Indian market with an outstanding range!

First, we have the Mercedes-Benz EQS. The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the first luxury 'Made in India' electric vehicle with production taking place in Pune. It comes feature packed and has a very soft look to the eye. The price, however, packs quite a strong punch - coming in at Rs. 1.55 Crores (ex-showroom, India).
The new EQS surprised everyone when they announced the range with it having enough juice to travel 857km on a single charge (ARAI-certified)! This car has a 107.8kWh battery powering it alongside a dual electric motor. As a result of this, it has 858Nm of torque and 523bhp of pulling force.
In terms of safety, there are nine airbags present and a list of ADAS functions.
Talking about features, the Mercedes-Benz EQS comes with everything to impress. To start off, we see a prominent 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that has three in-built screens spreading across the entire length of the dash, ambient lighting, climate control, and an electronically adjustable seat with a massage option. On top of this, music is heard through a 710W Burmester Sound System with 15 speakers.

Next in line is the KIA EV 6. This, in my opinion, is one of the better-looking cars on this list. The EV 6 comes in two variants with it starting at Rs. 60.95 Lakh and going up to Rs. 65.95 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The Kia EV 6 has either an RWD setup with a single motor or an AWD setup with a dual motor but both have a 77.4kWh battery present in them. The RWD trim pushes out 225.8bhp and 350Nm of torque and the AWD setup pushes out 320.5bhp and 605Nm thanks to its dual motor. The EV6 has an ARAI-certified range of up to 708km on a full charge.
When speaking about safety, the KIA EV 6 has eight airbags, a range of ADAS systems and ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
The features seen in the KIA are ventilated and powered front seats, a sunroof, dual curved 12.3-inch screens - one for the dash and one for the infotainment system, a Meridian Sound System with 14 speakers, climate control and wireless charging.

The BMW i4 is our third car on the list. It has only a single variant and is priced at Rs. 69.90 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Unlike most other cars, BMW has done a WLTP (World Harmonized Lightweight Vehicle Test Procedure) test for their range and got a certified result of 590km. In the i4, we find a single electric motor producing 335.3bhp and 430Nm of torque. Along with this, there is an 83.9kWh battery.
The safety features present in the car are 8 airbags and a host of various ADAS functions.
The interior features include a Harman Kardon sound system, a 12.3-inch driver's display, a 14.9-inch infotainment system, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting and adjustable front seats.

Next, we have the BYD Atto 3 with a price tag of Rs. 33.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the normal variant. The special edition costs Rs. 34.49 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
The BYD Atto 3 is a front-wheel drive, with a 60.48kWh battery pack linked to an electric motor, all working together to produce 201.3bhp and 310Nm of torque. ARAI claims a range of 521km.
The BYD has seven airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill-descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera and various ADAS functions along with others.
On the feature front, we see keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.8-inch rotating touch screen, and a 5-inch digital dash for the driver along with various others.

Here we have the MG ZS EV. This car comes in two variants: Excite and Exclusive and the prices start from Rs, 23.38 Lakh and go up to Rs. 27.40 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The 50.3kWh battery pack and 174.5bhp and 280Nm electric motor that power the ZS EV work together to give a range of 461km.
Six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and hill descent control are included for safety. It, however, doesn't have the ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assist Systems) found on the Astor, but it does have driver-assistance features including rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.
Among its features, we see a panorama sunroof, a seven-inch digital driver's display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a motorized driver seat and a wireless phone charger.

Thoughts on EVs With Long Range: The less we charge, the less we use electricity, and the better it gets for Mother Earth! In India, the less coal we burn, the less electricity we waste, and the less our country gets polluted.
