Here we bring you the world's 10 most expensive armour plated vehicles. Most of these vehicles can withstand armour piercing bullets and a few even explosions. There are a few companies out there that build armour plated cars for civilian use. These companies have literally put a price tag on the life of a human being's safety.

10. The Tumbler
At number ten is the savior of Gotham City's vehicle, the Batmobile. This jet powered Tumbler can almost withstand any kind of firepower in the movie. But in reality, It is powered by a 5-litre engine and is not really armoured. The price of the Tumbler is estimated to be in millions but no exact figures are available.
9. The Dartz Kombat T98 SUV
Dartz, a company that has made armoured vehicles since World War 1, made this SUV at a price of USD 200,000. This is actually a SUV that looks like a tank. The vehicle's 7 cm thick windows and heavy steel plating can keep bullets from an AK-47 away as well as rocket propelled grenades. Powering this vehicle is a huge 8.1-litre Vortec V8 engine that can reach a top speed of 180n km/h.
8. Cadillac One
This is a very famous car used by the powerful President of the US, Barack Obama. This vehicle is heavily armoured and details of the car are highly classified. This car is estimated to cost USD 300,000. During a presidential convoy, three of these cars are used to confuse possible threats.
7. Conquest Knight XV
Costing USD 310,000, it is built with hardened steel and kevlar fibre glass. Even the wheels can withstand damage as they are made from forged 6061 aluminium. The "Hummer Killer" as it is known is either powered by a 6-litre V8 engine that produces 325 horsepower or a 6.7-litre diesel engine.

Costing USD 311,000, is a car that the Pope himself commutes in. This bulletproof vehicle can withstand any biological and chemical attack. It can speed up to 70 mph even with a flat tyre. This vehicle is powered by a 5-litre V8 engine from Mercedes.
5. BMW 7 Series
Coming in at number five is the German car maker BMW with their High Security 7 series. BMW feel that this is German engineering at its best. The added weight does not affect the car's performance. Costing USD 350,000, the car can repel high powered projectiles from weapons and withstand chemical attacks. The car even has a gas tank that can seal itself up again if hit or punctured. The car is powered by a 6-litre V12 engine that produces 535 horsepower.
4. Maybach 62S
In the number four spot is the Maybach 62S, costing USD 352,000. This vehicle has been armour plated by the Swiss company named Rijck. This car is so well armour plated that it can withstand a high powered sniper shot from 10 meters away. This vehicle comes with an AMG V12 Biturbo 5980 cc 620-horsepower engine and can do 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds.
3. Bentley Mulsanne
At number three is the luxurious Bentley Mulsanne which costs USD 400,000. This car was built by the same people who build cars for the Queen of England. The armour plating in this car is built from the initial stages of the car itself. This car can protect its passengers from high powered gun fire, explosives and chemical assaults.
2. Audi A8 L Security
This stock looking Audi A8 which takes our second spot costs almost a million dollars and is fitted with B7 armor plating, the best armour in existence. The designers put a lot of work designing this car and it can protect its occupants in almost any situation. In a worst case scenario if the occupants have to get out, there is a switch that detonates the windshield so that people can get out.

The number one spot goes to the Mercedes S600 Pullman State Limousine. This car looks huge, but little do people know this is an armour plated vehicle. Many celebrities and politicians have used this car. The list ranges from Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley to Fidel Castro and Idi Amin who have used the Pullman as their choice of transport. The car is built to withstand bullets and explosives and doubles up as a bunker! All this available at a price of USD 1.4 million.
