Video: Tech-Savvy Thieves Drive Away With 'Secure' SUV
A Hyundai Creta with state of the art safety and security features did not stop these professional thieves from stealing the SUV.
A Hyundai Creta was stolen by professional thieves despite the SUV boasting high-tech safety and security features.
The video reveals tech-savvy criminals quickly break into the Creta and driving off without any difficulty. In the video, a thief is seen scanning the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), later joined by an accomplice, is seen driving off the stolen vehicle.
To make a duplicate key of the Creta requires high-security key VIN and PIN number and getting one from the company dealership is a lengthy and costly affair.
Local keysmiths can reproduce the key in no time with the VIN and PIN details. This probably reflects the thieves were hand in glove with the dealership to able to obtain the PIN details of this particular vehicle.
The thieves even found a way to match the immobiliser code so that it does not set off the security alarm.
