The Grand Tour Is The Most Illegally Downloaded Show Of All Time
The Grand Tour has beat the Game Of Thrones to a rather unwanted record: The Most Pirated Show... in the world.
The Grand Tour, the comeback show for former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May recorded the biggest show premiere ever on Amazon's Prime Video service according to the American company.
However, the Amazon Prime show has now beaten off the Game of Thrones to a rather unwanted record and is now the most illegally downloaded show... in the world (as Clarkson would say.)
According to data compiled by MUSO, the leading data analysts of the piracy market and accessed by the Daily Mail, the first episode of the show was illegally downloaded 7.9 million times.
The second and third episode fared no better and were downloaded illicitly 6.4 million and 4.6 million times respectively. Data is still coming in for the fourth episode which was aired last Friday (December 9).
Astonishingly, the country responsible for most of the illegal downloads worldwide is the United Kingdom, the same nation, the trio of trouble-making television presenters hail from. Viewers in the UK were responsible for 13.7 percent of the total illegal downloads made worldwide.
