Tesla Model S Driver Sacrifices His Car To Save Unconscious VW Driver
A Tesla Model S driver deliberately got in the way of a runaway Volkswagen on the highway after noticing that the VW driver was unconscious.
A Tesla Model S driver deliberately brought his electric car into the way of a Volkswagen Passat after noticing that the driver had passed out behind the steering wheel of the out of control VW.
The German driver first called the police to inform them about the Volkswagen driver before he swung his car in front of the Passat sedan before tapping the brakes to bring the runaway car to a stop.
The incident which occurred on an Autobahn near the German city of Munich ultimately saved the life of the Volkswagen driver who according to a German media report had reportedly suffered a stroke. The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to a nearby hospital by the police and the fire department who had responded to the Tesla driver's call.
The German police have launched an investigation into the incident which caused damage to the two cars to the tune of a total of around €10,000 (Rs 706,300). However, they plan to reward the Tesla driver for his actions rather than prosecute him. Let's just hope his insurer agrees with them as well.
