Tesla Explores Event: One Killed, Three Injured After Pickup Crashes Into Crowd
A 73-year-old man was killed and three others injured after a pickup truck crashed into a crowd during the Tesla Explores event.
Electric car manufacturer Tesla is currently promoting its cars in North America using the Model X SUV when tragedy struck in Detroit.
A pickup truck ran into a crowd of people present at the event, killing one and injuring three others.

A 73-year-old man died after suffering severe head injuries from the impact, which wedged him under a trailer. Two others were admitted to a hospital where they are undergoing treatment, and a fourth person declined treatment as his injuries were minimal.

According to witnesses, the driver of the pickup deliberately crashed into the crowd and police say that he was stinking of alcohol. Police later revealed saying that the driver was under the influence of drugs.

Following the incident, a Tesla spokesperson told Electrik that the company employees were safe and expressed grief to those who were hurt. Tesla said, "We will offer any assistance we can to the authorities who are on the scene."
